Asthma Action Plans For Schools
Asthma Action Plan – Where Do I Begin?
If you are suffering from asthma then you need an action plan. You can’t simply sit back and hope for the best, it’s up to you to take action. And the great thing is, if you take the right action and come-up with an effective plan, you will make yourself feel better.
Why Do I Need an Asthma Action Plan?
Asthma is a condition that can be caused or triggered by many different things. It can also be controlled or cured by many different things. These things include more than just going to the doctor and using the medications and devices the doctor give to you. You have the power to help yourself beat asthma and you need to make sure you’re doing everything you can to make yourself as healthy as possible.
You can personally treat your asthma by monitoring what you eat, learning how to breathe correctly, and making your living conditions the best they can possibly be. All three of these things should be part of any action plan that you have.
Where Do I Begin?
In order to design an effective action plan for your asthma, you first have to understand your own condition. Everyone’s case is a little different from everyone else’s. There are different stimuli or allergies that are causing your asthma attacks. In order to help yourself, you have to know what’s causing your attacks so you can then eliminate those specific things from you life.
Common Causes/Triggers of Asthma
One of the biggest causes of asthma is allergies. And the biggest sources of allergies for a person are their living environment and their foods. What you are around – your home, your workplace, etc. – and what you eat can all dramatically affect your asthma.
For example, you may have mold growing somewhere in your house. The mold produces spores that can fly through the air and be inhaled by you. This would in turn lead to it growing worse and you having an asthma attack.
There are also many possibilities for different foods to bother you. Some of these foods may be because they naturally have negative effects on your body that lead to these attacks or it could be because of allergies.
Putting your Asthma Action Plan into Action
It may take some time for you to figure out what is triggering it. You will have to go through the process of cleaning your home and getting rid of anything that might be aggravating your asthma. It will also take some time to figure out what foods may be triggering problems for you.
Once you know what needs to be done and what you need to do then you can get started with your action plan. Know what you want and need to do each and every day and then make sure you continue to do it consistently.
Learn how to breathe correctly and then practice your breathing techniques everyday. Find out what might be harming you in your home and other environment and then try to correct the problem; and then discover what foods hurt and help you and then follow a diet which is suitable for you.
