Tea made from maiden hair fern and the bark of the mulberry tree is helpful is alleviating symptoms of asthma. Asclepias tuberosa works as a vasodilator and helps with the symptoms of asthma. Tea made from the roots mixed with water is the best way for asthma symptom cure. St. John’s Wort is an antianxiety herb and it calms down the stress level, but this herb some be taken by the directions of the physicians as it can lead to photosensitivity in some cases.
Garlic and peppermint works as an expectorant and it improves the health of the patient overall by increasing the strength. Peppermint vapor is helpful in relieving cough symptoms which again relieves the asthma attacks.
Some Chinese herbs are helpful in treating chronic asthma attacks. Some of them are Er Chen Wan, Ching Fei Yi Huo, Ping Chuan Wan, Ge Ji Da Bu Wan, Ma Hsing Chih Ke Pian, Yin Chiao, etc.
Herbs are useful for asthma but simultaneously prescription medications should also be continued. It should not be that after starting the herbal medications, one should stop the prescription medications. One should consult the physician before taking the herbal medications.
