Controlling environmental factors that lead to exacerbation of asthma symptoms may be a good place to start. The environmental factors were discussed before. Controlling these factors might include any of the following:

1. Removing stuffed animals and pets from the bedroom.

2. Washing pillowcases and beddings with water having temperatures of about 130 F.
